Bulgogi

I was surprised to find out recently that many Penn students know and like Bulgogi, a Korean traditional dish. I also learned that KoJa, a Korean-Japanese food cart at 38th and Walnut, has Bulgogi discounts every Friday. However, if you want to make Bulgogi on your own, you can start by following this recipe. Always feel free to alternate this recipe in any way you want by adding or taking out any ingredients according to your taste.

Ingredients:

Beef (300g)
1/2 onion, carrots, broccoli, mushroom, and other vegetables as you like
1/2 ground onion
2 TB ground garlic
4 TB soy sauce
4 TB sugar
1/2 TB pepper
1 TB sesame oil
2 TB cooking wine

Directions:

① Start by washing the beef and pat dry.
② Slice carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms.
③ Mix ground onion, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, pepper, and cooking wine (you can mix in apple or pear).
④ Then in the mixed marinade, put in the sesame oil.
⑤ In a big bowl, blend beef, marinade, and vegetables.
⑥ Leave this in a fridge for about an hour or two so beef can absorb the marinade.
⑦ Then grill it in a pan until everything is cooked.

Enjoy!
